Dr. Susan Kempe-Müller, partner in the Frankfurt office of Latham & Watkins, advises and represents clients in all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on trademark, competition, employee invention, and copyright law.

Dr. Kempe-Müller has long-standing experience advising on transactions in the field of intellectual property and information technology. 

She has particular expertise in drafting and negotiating complex national and cross-border contracts in the IP/IT area. She advises clients on:

  • License and service agreements
  • Research and development contracts
  • Software development and software transfer projects
  • Cooperation agreements
  • Outsourcing contracts

Dr. Kempe-Müller also represents companies in litigation and proceedings before trademark and patent offices.

Dr. Kempe-Müller’s experience includes advising: 

  • Cheplapharm on the acquisition of the US Marketing Authorization for Pulmicort Flexhaler, a Budesonide inhalation powder for the treatment of Asthma, from AstraZeneca AB
  • Deutsche Bank and Orchard Global Asset Management on the sale of HIT Holzindustrie Torgau to Mercer International Inc.
  • HANNOVER Finanz and Hans-Werner Mumm on the sale of their shares in ATEC
  • Hg on the sale of Transporeon
  • Partners Group on the acquisition of a majority stake in Cloudflight
  • Triton on the acquisition of Trench
