Susan Parker, Chair of the Boston Finance Department, advises private equity sponsors, investment funds, and operating companies across all stages of the investment life cycle, with a particular focus on the middle market.

Ms. Parker leverages fluency in all levels of the capital structure and interdisciplinary fund experience — including in-house at global investment institutions — to help clients navigate:

  • Private equity and growth equity financings, including recurring revenue facilities and cash flow
  • Structured equity and pre-IPO financings
  • M&A, joint ventures, and other direct investments

She identifies transactional risks before they jeopardize a deal and devises creative solutions that allow clients to achieve their commercial objectives.    

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Parker was a partner at a Boston-based law firm. Before that, she was senior counsel at Audax Group, The Boston Consulting Group, and the Power and Infrastructure Group of Hancock Financial Services’ North American Investment Division. In these roles, she led on a variety of strategic partnerships, acquisitions, investment, and financing transactions.

Ms. Parker maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing a 13-year-old El Salvadorian in an asylum case through KIND, a nonprofit organization focused on providing high-quality legal representation to children in immigration court.
