Ravi Purohit is a partner in the Houston and New York offices of Latham & Watkins and serves as Global Vice Chair of the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure Industry Group. 

Mr. Purohit advises strategic companies, institutional investors, and financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, and joint ventures, as well as other general corporate and financing matters.

Widely recognized as a leading lawyer in the energy and infrastructure space, Mr. Purohit serves clients involved in a variety of key infrastructure sectors, including midstream energy, renewables, utilities, transportation, telecommunications, water, and waste. His experience encompasses more than US$125 billion worth of private equity and M&A transactions, including many of the largest infrastructure transactions as well as a number of first-of-their-kind and novel deals in the sector.

Prior to joining private legal practice, Mr. Purohit worked as a managing director and founding member of the investment team at Blackstone Infrastructure Partners, one of the world’s largest open-ended global infrastructure funds, responsible for sourcing and executing midstream energy, utility, telecommunication, and transportation transactions. He also recently served as the general counsel of Blackstone Infrastructure Partners. Prior to Blackstone Infrastructure, Mr. Purohit served as a managing director at Alinda Capital Partners, an infrastructure investment firm.

Mr. Purohit currently serves on the Board of Visitors for Columbia Law School and the Board of Directors of South Asian Youth Action, a non-profit youth development organization. 

Mr. Purohit is the recipient of the 2019 South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) Corporate Leadership Award.
