Hugh Murtagh represents creditors and debtors both in and out of court in a broad array of disputes and transactions. 

Mr. Murtagh represents creditors, shareholders, purchasers, and distressed companies in all facets of the restructuring and reorganization process, with a particular focus on bankruptcy litigation.

He represents clients in:

Mr. Murtagh helps clients reach solutions in complex restructurings and related disputes, drawing on his ability to aggressively advocate for clients and to negotiate resolutions, including managing all aspects of litigated matters. 

Prior to his commercial practice, Mr. Murtagh served as a Law Clerk to Judge Kevin P. Castel, United States District Judge, Southern District of New York.

He regularly writes on bankruptcy-related issues, including in Pratt’s Journal of Bankruptcy Law, the New York Law Journal, and Law360.
