Brian Patterson serves as Global Vice Chair of the firm's Emerging Companies & Growth Practice and represents emerging companies through all stages of growth and advises the venture capital and private equity funds that invest in the emerging companies space.

Mr. Patterson counsels clients, from solo founders to seasoned fund managers, on a full spectrum of emerging company and venture capital-related topics, including:

  • Corporate formation and governance
  • Deal structuring
  • Equity and debt financing
  • Public offerings
  • M&A transactions, joint ventures, strategic, partnering, licensing, and commercial transactions
  • Venture capital and investment fund formation

Mr. Patterson leverages his passion for entrepreneurship and technology with his significant experience counseling startups on the full range of issues they may face. He draws on insights gained from working across industries, including software, mobile, and consumer products, gaming and entertainment, clean and green energy, life sciences, as well as semiconductors.

Mr. Patterson serves on the board of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology, where he has been a featured speaker on startup and venture capital law and business.
