Latham & Watkins Advises GEF Capital Partners on US$325 Million Fund Formation

Cross-border team represented the private equity firm on oversubscribed US Climate Solutions Fund II.

GEF Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm focused on climate change and pollution mitigation, announced the successful close of GEF US Climate Solutions Fund II (the Fund). The Fund was met with strong investor demand and closed at US$325 million of commitments, far exceeding its original US$250 million target. The Fund focuses on making control investments in lower middle-market companies in the United States and Canada to rapidly scale their climate change and pollution remediation solutions.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented GEF Capital in the fund formation with an Investment Funds team led by Washington, D.C. partner Barton Clark, with associates Mario Richards, Sandile Magagula, and Azzam Chaudhry.
