Latham & Watkins Advises Octopus Ventures on Kita’s Series Seed

Funding aims to launch the carbon insurance specialist’s first insurance product for carbon removal financing.
Latham & Watkins has advised Octopus Ventures as lead investor on the £4 million Series Seed funding round of Kita, a carbon insurance specialist helping reduce risk in carbon credit transactions with insurance products that safeguard the quality and performance of carbon purchases. The funding will be used to launch Kita’s first insurance product, Carbon Purchase Protection Cover for carbon removal financing.
The round was led by Octopus Ventures, alongside existing investors Insurtech Gateway, Carbon13, and Climate VC, and new investors Chaucer Group and Hartree Partners.
The Latham team was led by London corporate partner Shing Lo, with associates Samantha Peacock and Venice Ma.
