Kelly Cataldo recognized as one of New York’s top young lawyers for groundbreaking legal work.

Project Development & Finance partner Kelly Cataldo has been recognized as a rising star in the 2022 New York Legal Awards, presented annually by American Lawyer Media’s New York Law Journal. The awards recognize the New York region’s most promising young lawyers.

Throughout her time at Latham, Cataldo has earned a reputation as a go-to expert on market-leading financings for some of the most notable renewable energy projects constructed to date. Her practice includes representing investors, lenders, and sponsors in all phases of construction of, financing of, and investment in renewable energy projects and infrastructure assets.

The independent panel of judges recognized Cataldo for her groundbreaking work in the energy sector, including serving as lead counsel to: the lenders in financing for the US$2.3 billion 800 MW Vineyard Wind Project, the first financing for an offshore wind project in the US and one of the largest debt financings of a domestic energy project to date; Terra-Gen Power on the debt and tax equity financing of its Edwards Sanborn Project, which is one of the largest solar and co-located battery storage project in the US; and LS Power and Bolt Energy FinanceCo in the construction to term financing of a portfolio of battery storage systems in California, which includes Gateway, the world’s largest battery storage project.

Cataldo has also recently been named a Law360 Project Finance Rising Star in 2022 and received recognition from Bloomberg Law’s They Got Next award program.
