Latham Adds Another Skilled Patent Litigator to Leading IP Litigation Practice

March 2, 2021
Susan Tull brings significant trial and appellate experience to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Susan Tull has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as counsel in the Litigation & Trial Department and as a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. She is an intellectual property litigator who represents clients before US District Courts, the US International Trade Commission, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

“Susan is a fantastic addition to the firm’s IP Litigation Practice, whose experience litigating patent cases on a wide variety of issues complements Latham’s formidable courtroom reputation,” said Michael Morin, Global Vice Chair of Latham’s IP Litigation Practice. “I previously worked with Susan when we were both at a prior firm and I’m excited to have her join Latham’s IP team where her thoughtful guidance will serve our clients incredibly well.”

Daniel Lennon, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins in Washington, D.C. added, “We couldn’t be more pleased to have Susan join our market-leading IP team in D.C. She has a reputation for fostering strong relationships with her clients and working collaboratively with colleagues, two hallmarks of Latham culture that lead to excellent client service.”

Tull has litigated patent cases on a range of subject matters, including consumer products, medical devices, industrial equipment, automotive technology, and other mechanical and electrical systems. She has extensive experience developing litigation strategies, taking complex discovery, working with technical and damages experts, and crafting summary judgment motions, pre-and post-trial briefs, and appellate briefs.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Latham’s top tier IP Litigation Practice. I’ve seen the firm’s IP team grow over the past decade into a seamlessly integrated, premier trial practice and I’m excited to supplement those capabilities,” said Tull.

Tull is another strong recent addition to the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice, following the arrivals of leading life sciences trial lawyers Arlene Chow and Ernest Yakob in New York, as well as Adam Perlman in Washington, D.C.

Tull joins Latham from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP in Washington, D.C. She earned her BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering and her JD magna cum laude from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
