Industry Magazine Recognizes Communications Partners

Cable business publication Cablefax has named Washington, D.C. partners Matthew Brill and Matthew Murchison to its 2019 Top Lawyers list, honoring the most influential lawyers in the cable industry.

Brill, the Global Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Communications Law Practice was lauded for being “a leading industry advocate at the FCC and the courts when it comes to net neutrality” as well as further representation across the industry. Cablefax described him as “a prominent fixture crafting the voice of the industry” and “one of the key figures in the cable industry’s legal landscape.”

Murchison, a partner in the Communications Law Practice, was recognized for his efforts in “making arguments to the FCC over the hotly contested issue of net neutrality,” “curb[ing] fraudulent robocalls,” and “moderniz[ing] the rules for the business data services marketplace.” He was also highlighted for his passion for pro bono work, in particular arguing “for the legality of homeless and indigent people to peacefully solicit” under the First Amendment.

This is the third year in a row that Brill and Murchison were honored as Top Lawyers by Cablefax.
