John Kallaugher retired from the partnership in July 2017. He divided his time between the Brussels and London offices of Latham & Watkins, where his practice focused primarily on competition law. At the time of his retirement he was a Visiting Professor at University College London, where he taught Comparative US/EC/Antitrust/Competition Law.
Professor Kallaugher had a broad practice touching on all areas of competition law. He has represented clients from many industrial sectors in competition cases before the Commission, national competition authorities, Community courts, national courts, and arbitral tribunals. A particular focus of his practice has been on issues arising in transport, particularly aviation.
Professor Kallaugher is recommended in Global Competition Review's Who's Who of Competition Lawyers guide. He is ranked as a notable practitioner for competition law by Chambers UK 2016 and 2019.
