John J. Clair retired from Partnership on December 31, 2014. Mr. Clair is Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Tax Department. Mr. Clair represents foreign corporations, individual investors, investment banks, private equity sponsors and public companies.
His practice centers around corporate taxation and specifically involves advising clients on tax issues involved in:
- Divestitures
- Financial products and services
- Mergers and acquisitions
Mr. Clair has written various articles for the Practising Law Institute, Tax Executives Institute, Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law, the California State Bar, the New York City Bar Center and New York University Institute on Federal Taxation.
