Jeffrey ("Jeff") S. Muñoz retired from the partnership in May 2022. He represented oil and gas companies, private equity, hedge funds, and other financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions, financings, project development, and other transactions related to the energy industry. Mr. Muñoz's domestic and international experience includes:
- Joint ventures and other strategic combinations in connection with the development of oil and gas assets primarily in domestic shale areas
- Acquisitions and divestitures of oil and gas assets, midstream assets, and oilfield service businesses
- Financing transactions including volumetric production payments, net profits interests, and royalty trusts
Mr. Muñoz has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law, Energy Law and Natural Resources Law (2008–2022) (Best Lawyers is by BL Rankings), as well as in Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in oil and gas (transactional) 2012–2022. He was also recognized by The Legal 500 2016 as one of the Tier 1 recommended lawyers in the US in the practice of Energy: Transactions - Oil & Gas and International Who's Who lawyer for Energy in 2014 and 2015 (Who's Who is by Law Business Research Limited).
At the time of his retirement, Mr. Muñoz was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Association.
