Dr. Andreas Diem retired from the partnership in December 2018. He was a partner in the Munich office and former Chair of the German Finance Department.
He has advised lenders and borrowers on the financing of acquisitions, real estate portfolios, and NPL portfolios. In addition, he advised clients on syndicated loans and debt restructurings.
Mr. Diem has been a leading name and a recommended lawyer for Bank Lending and Acquisition Finance (JUVE 2017/2018, The Legal 500 EMEA 2018) and recommended for Restructuring and Corporate Rescue (JUVE 2014/2015). He has also been recognized as a key individual for Acquisition Finance and Syndicated Lending by Chambers Europe Germany 2015 and The Legal 500 EMEA 2016. In Handelsblatt Best Lawyers 2018, Mr. Diem was listed among the best lawyers for Banking and Finance in Germany. In IFLR1000 2017 he was recognized as a leading lawyer for Banking in Germany. In addition, clients have praised his technical knowledge, saying: “Everyone reads and refers to his book on lending” (Chambers Europe Germany 2016).
Mr. Diem is the author of the leading textbook on acquisition finance (Akquisitionsfinanzierungen – Kredite für Unternehmenskäufe, 3rd edition 2013, C.H. Beck Verlag, Munich).
