Latham Advises Baraka on US$20 Million Series A Funding Round Led by Valar Ventures

Fundraising aims to support the online brokerage company’s expansion in the Middle East.
Latham & Watkins has advised Baraka, a commission-free online brokerage platform based in the Middle East, on its US$20 million Series A funding round. The proceeds will be used by Baraka to expand across the GCC and Egypt, and reach more users.
The round was led by Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures with participation from global investment firm Knollwood.
The Latham team was led by Dubai partner Eyad Latif and counsel Omar Maayeh.
