Two Partners Named to China Business Law Journal’s 2020 A-List

Benjamin Su and Hui Xu earn recognition as “elite lawyers” in the Chinese market for their corporate and disputes practices, respectively.

China Business Law Journal has named Hong Kong partner Benjamin Su and Beijing partner Hui Xu to its 2020 A-List recognizing the top “elite lawyers” in the Chinese market. The annual award program is based on nominations from companies, law firms, and other organizations.

Su, a member of the Capital Markets Practice, handles a range of corporate and securities law matters involving clients doing business in Greater China. His work includes US equity and debt registered offerings, Rule 144A/Regulation S equity and debt offerings, private placements, private investments in public equity (PIPEs), convertible bonds, tender offers, and going private transactions. Su advises many of the firm’s global investment banks and leading companies based in China.

Xu, who serves as Chair of Latham’s Litigation & Trial Department in Asia, advises clients in responding to inquiries of multi-jurisdictional enforcement agencies and regulators, conducting internal and governmental investigations, as well as advising on cross-border disputes. His experience spans the areas of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and Chinese bribery laws, export controls and financial sanctions, data privacy and network security, anti-money laundering, and antitrust. Xu also recently received recognition as a Law360 2020 Compliance MVP.
